House manual - graphics and design suggestions

I have a light controller (the IKEA Tradfri). I would like to put in my House Manual a picture of the controller, along with arrows or labels identifying parts of the controller:

How would the ‘hive’ here go about making a small sign or label for this - would you use a specific graphics program, recommend a website-based service, or would someone here be able to do this?

Maybe just put this in your house manual:

yes of course, but I wanted something more ‘graphic’ for guests who would want to see (for example) something saying ‘on/off’ with an arrow pointing to the function.

I was also hoping to print out a small sign using minimal writing. The controller is near the door, the light is over the bed…

Of course, I am open to discourse on what to use.

It seems to me that the on off and bright/dim are as well understood as any signs words you might print out. I wasn’t sure what the arrows are until I looked it up. I have a label maker so I’d probably just put labels in English on the device together with these instructions in the house manual.

I guess you want someone to print the words on the diagram and I imagine there’s someone here who can do that.

I’m not as helpful as I wish I was. LOL.

I used Word and inserted pictures, arrow shapes and text boxes for my instruction sheets.

Maybe put a dot of different color nail polish on each of the four sections with a color coded note on the wall next to it.

gee, a tome in order to change the light amount?

To the op, copy paste that photo to Paint, add some arrows and text, voila.

I would just make little bright stickers with images and stick them right onto the controller.

There are images on the 2 1/2" controller, what I am looking for is a way to describe the images and what they do,

So I just did this. @Rolf do you have Microsoft Paint?

No I don’t, I have a mac, and I will look around for a paint program for it.

OK, I’m ready, go ahead and make fun of my two-sided, laminated washer/dryer instructions!(Page 1 only shown)

I just did this for our ceiling fan remotes, as we were just told the guest did not know how to use it.

If you have a Mac, you have “Photos”.
In the edit mode, there is an icon with three dots.
When you click on the three dots, you see something called “Markup”.
In Markup mode, you get all the tools to add graphics to your photo or screenshot.

You’ll be able to add text boxes, arrows, change colors and fonts.

And this is what we did with ours:

Let me know if you need assistance.

Create and post a QR code that links to a YouTube video of how to use it.

@Rolf, if you make me watch a video to turn the lights on, there won’t be 5-stars in my review and, honestly, it would just be easier to contact you and ask you instead. I like the instructions you put up there!

maybe put the QR code on the instruction panel in the frame? Then you will have both?

I presume you don’t have to watch the video to figure out that the “power” button turns the lights on and off. It’s the rest of the adjusting that can be done that some people might need help doing.
Videos are great because … all together now… PEOPLE DON’T READ!

Nice detail. Now if people would just read.
