Here in Japan there is the Minpaku Kyokai (Private Accomodation Association) which is an advocacy group that helps shape public policy on vacation rentals.

Some areas in the US have host groups organized over Meetup.com but it’s not a formal union or anything like that. AirBnB also loosely organizes regional host groups where discussions about upcoming legal changes happen; sometimes that results in host-led political activism.
