We had an issue with a guest booking for 4 people (maximum we can accommodate) and arriving with 8-12 people!!! We empathized that only 4 could stay and he continued to lie to us.
Varly new to airbnb but all our reviews have been positive except for this guests uncalled for very negative review. We felt a reply to his review was warranted but it doesn’t show up on the phone app only on tablets or computers. This worries us as most travellers would be using the phone app.
Look Elm, this problem has no effect on the primary concern of Airbnb Inc., their own revenue. I doubt that they will employ any resources to fix this. They might not even consider it to be an actual problem. You never know, it may suddenly start working properly. Luckily for you travelers hardly read anything, especially when using phones. Hopefully you left him an appropriate review, not just the reply.
I have had this situation over and over. I finally just got their phone number, explained the situation on the airbn phone app, and then just texted privately. I wish I could do this over the app, but I would rather go around airbnb and not miss important messages. This, I agree, is very frustrating. How can they assess any issues if they do not have full messages. Dumb.
