Guest coughing non stop

Of the six nurses I know the best, four of them have gotten COVID. Two have been really ill, with Covid pneumonia. In those cases, they were both vaccinated. All of them lost weeks of work.

And in the US, the CDC now says these things about healthcare workers:

"Healthcare workers with COVID-19 who are asymptomatic can return to work after 7 days with a negative test, and that isolation time can be cut further if there are staffing shortages.” [Note that I see nothing to characterize what type of negative COVID test that is, and false negatives from some tests are very common.]

“Healthcare workers who have received all recommended COVID-19 vaccine doses, including a booster, do not need to quarantine at home following high-risk exposures.”

These two quotes came from this source on 12/23/2021: CDC Releases Emergency Guidance for Healthcare Facilities to Prepare for Potential Omicron Surge | CDC Online Newsroom | CDC

Don’t know about you, but I don’t want to have an exposed nurse staying at my house because there are “staffing shortages.” Staffing levels are important, but they don’t affect the virus and its transmissibility.

On what basis does she say you discriminated?

People are almost always incorrect when they start talking about discrimination. Almost as wrong as they are when they talk about the first amendment.

Tell her to stuff it. Her noise is disturbing the peaceful quiet of the house and has nothing to do with illness or Covid. She is not a good fit to your serenity

Not really. Depends on area. If the nurse is working in the ICU or Covid care units-yes that has an increased level of risk. However if the Nurse is working at a small hospital or unit dedicated to orthopedic post-op surgical care not much increased risk of exposure.

Wow! I have been on Lisinopril for years, and feel pretty naive for not knowing a cough could be a side effect. Funny, I feel more on top of Air’s TOS, than knowing what the drugs I’m taking could possibly cause. I, too have blamed allergies. Guess I’ll be talking to the Doc next week…

My personal opinion based on knowing the infection control procedures in place, I am more worried about the maskless fool crowding me in the line at Walmart than a nurse NOT working in the dedicated Covid care areas.

Btw-I’ve been to Walmart 3x since March 2020. Too many maskless fools.

I like to talk to my pharmacist about my drugs too. Sometimes they are more up to date.

The screen shot about Lisinopril I posted was from Medlineplus.gov. I really like that site. It offers easy to understand information in layman’s terms and is kept up to date.
I too like talking to the pharmacist but they are not always available, so this is a good resource too.

It’s not cool for someone to come into your home, knowing they are sick – regardless of what they are sick with. IMO you’re good. Renting a shared space requires the guest to have even more respect for the owner than when renting an entire place.
