That’s how I deal with all meat bones and fish scraps. I have a compost bin and make my own lovely compost, so all the other food waste goes in the bin, but of course meat and fish will attract rodents and other critters.
There is no garbage pickup where I live, I have to drop it off a few blocks away, so I try to remember to grab that stuff in the freezer when I do a garbage run.
This was funny- I had a guest a few weeks ago who bought and cooked some shrimp one evening (she made enough for both of us, which was nice and yummy). Without having to tell her, she put the shrimp peels in a bag in the freezer (I love guests who know how to do things smartly without instruction). Then she mentioned a few days later that she had taken the bag of peels with her to town and put it in a garbage can (that was even more impressive). But the day after she left, I found that bag of shrimp peels in the freezer. However, my bag of chicken bones was gone. Hard to tell what stuff is sometimes when it’s frozen. ![]()
