For those that don't enjoy Superhost status

Fair enough, that’s exactly what I mean! I wouldn’t report someone because I suspected that they were illegally sub-letting or because I thought their listing was crap (tempting as it is…)

I could care less about that stuff. I do care about people being lured into an unsafe space by a low price.

The problem is quality hosts suffering in the meantime. There was a more than 1 hour discussion on my local radio station this morning with people airing poor Airbnb grievances. This leads to more OTT and costly government regulation and a downward pressure on prices as consumers lose confidence in us.

We have been super hosts since October and I’ve really not noticed a difference in our bookings or quality of guests. Actually, our last several guests have been great.

But if you really don’t want to be SH all you need to do is stop responding to inquires or cancel a booking without cause. It’s easy to lose status if you want to. No reason to jump through all the hoops you’re suggesting.
