Airbnb announced this new extended availability starting for “eligible guests” on January 9th, 2025.
Well, it’s the tenth today and I cannot find this feature in my back-end in order to turn it off.
Didn’t they roll it out yet or is there some other bug happening? Does anyone of you see this option in their availability settings as mentioned in their email?
New features are not rolled out at the same time in all locations.
The extended availability feature has not appeared on my account yet here in Mexico.
When Airbnb stopped showing guest’s profile photos before booking confirmation in the US, I still saw them for 2-3 weeks after.
This extended availability has nothing to do with instant booking; Potential guests can now can send a reservation request outside of your parameters if this is left on, forcing you to accept or decline rather than handling it as in the past, as an inquiry.
I’m pretty happy, though, that people see instant booking as the pariah. Locally it means I get more bookings and my local competitors who don’t see from the guest’s point of view the advantages of a much simpler initiation of a booking process, lose ranking and bookings.
Good to know. I don’t even see how this is a useful feature, I set my availability window for a reason. I really wish they would roll out a feature to allow guests to be notified if a date becomes available due to a cancellation.
Interesting. This extended availability feature has not yet appeared in my settings, nor does my calendar show dates available beyond my normal 3 month window. I only use Request to book.
Pretty sneaky and disrespectful of them to apply extended availability to IB bookings in places where the option to turn this off has not yet appeared.
