Easy online house manual and/or local info

Here in Spain almost every restaurant has an online version of their menu, using a QR code like this:

qrcode.56085231

Generally, it’s a link to a PDF document uploaded to either a One Drive or Google Drive account, many of the smaller restaurants don’t have web sites.

To cut down on cleaning time, instead of having a house manual now, we have a simple A4 sheet, printed on both sides with the important house rules which is then laminated. Easy clean :grinning:

All our other less important information, such as local bar and restaurant recommendations, lists of tabancos etc, are now in downloadable PDF format.

On the back of the laminated house rules we have two QR codes. The first is to download all the local information and the other is for the WiFi.

It’s easy to do. Create your document in PDF format, upload to Google or One Drive (or your own web space if have it), make the document shareable and then copy the URL.

Go to:

Follow the simple instructions there, download your own QR code and voila! You now have an easy to share document just by providing guests with the QR code.

Does the QR code just open up a doc with wifi instructions, or actually log you in? Logging in is likely too much to ask!

Apple iOS11 plus most recent Android phones will ask if you want to connect to the network, click “connect” and you’re in.

Very helpful tip and likely something I’ll do even if it will be helpful to just 10% of my guests. I wish QR codes had taken off more here in the U.S.
They just haven’t really, yet.

While many of my guests have smartphones, I think most will have a blank look when they see a QR code just based on their look when I ask them how familiar they are with “apps to stream TV.” For that reason I have a laminated TV instruction guide (and made sure to add pictures, haha) and you’re right, easy peasy for cleaning.
