Did anyone watch today's announcement? Comments?

No concrete reason - maybe wishful thinking? I just see a growing number of veteran hosts who are frustrated with the direction Airbnb is heading and a great opportunity for someone to be ridiculously successful with the initial “one host, one home” homesharing concept that made Airbnb the success it is.

Interesting. My biggest gripe with Airbnb is the communication wall between hosts and guests and the huge fees they extract. I believe a platform at scale benefits hosts and guests. So we need hotels and homes and apartments and everything on there. But the platform should serve its users rather than extract as much as possible which means it has to do things like censor messages and prevent communication to ensure they get their 17-20% of the transaction. Which I believe is excessive.

It is excessive. And for long term rentals at the same % it’s even more exorbitant.
