Hello, my name is Doni, i started to host this year on airbnb. My season ended and i put my experience on hold until next year. Today I logged into account to find out that my experience is deleted while all reviews are there. Also I can look up page of experience but not the actual experience. Anyone ever had this issue? I contacted support but they cant guarantee they can bring back experience. anyone have idea what can I do in this situation?
Thank you
What did Airbnb suggest when you spoke to them @Johncro
Creating a duplicate seems easiest but speak to Airbnb.
They said they will check with their superiors. I was messing around in experience menu since I had other experience I hosted and when i clicked “copy” it got deleted and it created new one with same images but nothing else. And that happened with first one as well. I don’t think that pressing “copy” should just delete my experience with one click.
Creating duplicate is not an issue if i can get 270+ reviews transfer to that same experience.
Agreed. I would not think a copy would delete the original experience but I find Airbnb’s platform very buggy and their app buggier even still. If you get an answer or figure it out l, please let us know.
Also, we often suggest tweeting to AirBnb publicly to prod the issue along. As per usual, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, so try to charm them into helping you.
Yeah, I think its bugged, cause pressing copy makes your experience dissapear and creates new one with just same pictures which is very odd. I contacted airbnb staff and they said they will contact me on monday since its weekend. Also idk how much experience manager at airbnb can do but i contacted her as well. Will try twitter if this doesnt work
“Copy” is available for both listings and experiences and it is meant to make it easier for high volume hosts to duplicate their very similar listings. Copy and then just edit the differences rather than creating from scratch every time.
Yeah, that was my understanding too as well. Even though I clicked accidentally on the copy under experience, deletion happened and it wasn’t pleasant when I understood what happened. I even deleted another experience which is not important as first one but still whole summer goes to waste cause of this one bugg that was here who knows how long. If this happened during season this would be so bad… I don’t see why they cant deal with this since they probably have everything on their servers as backup.
I’ve just had the same experience tonight. I wanted to create a similar Experience to one that has been very popular during the summer season, but I wanted to create a new one for winter. To save time and re-use a lot of the same basic information, I pressed “Duplicate” and received an error at the top of the page saying there was a problem with duplicating my Experience. Instantly, I received an email saying my Experience that is booked in two weeks has been cancelled! I refreshed the page to find that my ENTIRE Experience was gone. I have emailed AirBnB in hopes that it can be recovered, it would be a shame to have all my reviews and guest photos gone
4days and still waiting for someone to contact me. If they can’t recover my experience and all reviews goes to waste, I don’t think I will ever come back to platform.
Why have you waited four days? @Johncro
Just keep calling them till you get a response
It is much better to call Airbnb than to email them. My own experience is that they delay responding to emails, even don’t respond, but I’ve always had good results when I phone. It’s too easy to forget detail of issues if you are busy, and the cynic in me suspects that’s what they want you to do.
I actually called them 3 times and eveyone said people that can look up problems like this will contact me as soon as possible since regular agents can’t do anything about this issue. Hope for the best
Update: after calling 3 more times I managed to get them check whats really wrong and it got fixed in few hours. They didn’t told me details about what actually happened, only got message that my experience is back on and ready.
