There are good reasons to automate certain technical functions for error proofing. Manually inviting guests for August lock access presents it own potential failure modes:
- Missing setting up access for a new booking (this is our second residence and we are 800 miles away and doing other things besides hosting)
- Entry errors (dates, times, am instead of pm, etc).
We express our hospitality in the care we take in maintaining and furnishing our home and our communication with our guests and tending to their requests.
Automated vs. manual setup of smart lock access both present potential sources for problems and are not a discriminator of good hosting in our experience.
