Which is just what happened in this case. Although our area is quiet and peaceful, there is local construction going on and people such as landscapers doing their work. Leave the door open and you’re going to get dust. (And let out the expensive cooled air!)
I’m pretty amused by the fact that people who left the nastiest skidmarks on the bedding are marking me down for dust. Oh, and that bathtub was revolting…

No, those aren’t my words…but you had me googling reasons for skidmarks. The life lessons I learn from this forum

Can we add to that that they shed pubic hairs everywhere? I’m no youngster but I haven’t become a pube-shedder! Is this another thing I have to look forward to in old age, I wonder?
Speaking of that nastiness…my partner allowed a friend to crash for half a day.
I hadn’t cleaned the rental yet (since previous guests) and really don’t know if the last guests left the tub this way. But the friend is 70 or over, and when I went to clean- one tub was filled with pubic hair. First time ever in years for me. But the guy likely knows I can’t stand him and I would be the person likely cleaning - maybe revenge? I don’t know…maybe it was the previous guests. Coincidence? Hmn…

Your mentioning of skid marks reminded me of a story that a morning show weatherman told that broke up the audience. He’s the black guy with the large grin that used to be really heavy and lost a whole lot of weight.
He said he recently stayed in a classy hotel and they put a chocolate on the pillow that he didn’t notice. Apparently, the warmth of his body melted the chocolate and left quite a smear on the sheets and just his luck, the maid was coming in as he was leaving, so he said to her, “It wasn’t me, it was the candy.”
Sorry, all this talk of skid marks requires me to post this.
Thanks Boo, but I think it’s due to things I can’t change. Such as industrial carpet in the unit, and the fact that it’s a garden level apartment. If I had hardwood or laminate floors I bet that would help but I can’t do that. So the best I can do is clean it spic and span every time and hope for the best.
Ugh, I had a boo boo that turned out okay last night.
We had a check out yesterday and no coming check-in until next weekend. So we took a lazy Sunday and then headed to a Super Bowl party. Within 30 minutes of arriving we got a last minute instant book for last night! So I had to run home and do a fast turnover. Thankfully our previous guest kept it immaculate and I had extra sheets (3rd set) in my closet. I always keep 2 sets in rotation but I was behind on family laundry and hadn’t put any Air laundry in for days!
So lesson learned. Always do your turnover right away, especially if you have IB on. And wash your extra set right away so you don’t have panic kick in. It all turned out well and they were so happy with my place, but it totally ruined a night out for me.
