Cancellation refund question (again)

I’d asked a question before about refunding a guest that cancelled if I could rebook their dates (we have a Strict cancellation policy). I was able to get a replacement booking but at a lower rate. The “replacement” guests arrived yesterday and I just got notification of my 50% payout from AirBnB.

Under what circumstances do the guests get their service fee back? Do I have to call or chat with AirBnB? On Vrbo, if you keep even $1 from the booking amount, Vrbo keeps their service fee. Is it the same on AirBnB? I still have the email from the cancellation and I’ve clicked on the link to send them a refund, but it takes me to the resolution center and tells me to put an amount in the refund box.

I understand that ABB keeps their fees unless they are pushed for a full refund and it is 100% of the fees, not a portion

IME, this is the case with Airbnb as well.
