Yes, I had a guest who it said was from NY, but she had actually lived in SF for over a year. During her stay, I asked what she did in New York, or something like that, and that’s when she said she’d moved and just neglected to update her profile.
Sometimes I guess it’s nefarious but a lot of guests just forget. I had one guest who I asked if the phone number on her account was correct, and she said yes, but when I tried to phone her, it didn’t go through. When I told her that, she said, oh, that must be my Florida#- I’ll update it. And the last guest I cancelled for COVID had a Spanish phone number and when I asked about that at the time of booking, as she said she was living Calif, she said also she’d neglected to change it, and sent me her Calif. number.
So now that it’s happened twice, I’m going to start asking all my guests to check to make sure their # is current.
This is fun. I just put in “Hell in a Handbasket” for my location and got this place. It’s weird, but maybe I don’t want to go there now. Lol. This algorithm is as strange as the others.
Be careful. With all Airbnb’s tech glitches, you might just get stuck in Pinckney forever
Or even worse, I put in “never never land” and got “Chester, CA”. Whatup Chester?
You can’t do it yourself any more even though AIRBNB says you can, but you can get airbnb to do it for you. Problem is trying to get them to do anything the moment.
makes me wonder how many guests have stood at our door entering 2 or 3 sets of ‘last four digits of the phone number associated with this reservation’ before getting in.
They can’t on HomeAway.
I am on all the platforms…
Just saying…
