Check your local convention center’s calendar.
The crazy thing is that even within the same area occupancy rates can differ a lot. To give you an example, the apartment next door to our own rental has had just a trickle of bookings this year whereas we are fine - and the two places are more or less identical. So if you asked me about the busiest days here and then asked my neighbours you’d get two different answers!
I suspect that some hosts are far more active in promoting their listings than others and therefore it’s impossible to get a clear picture of occupancy for a particular area.
But as @azreala said, the most popular dates are likely to be when there are big conferences, some holiday periods, music festivals and so on. It can be hard work keeping up with them all
It all depends on your neighborhood and city. My high season in Brooklyn NY starts in April through October. From tourist, graduations, work, weddings, or gatherings. They come for different reasons.
Between Thanksgiving and Xmas is a slowish season where I get book more last minute. But I’m noticing people coming to see their grandchildren perform or family gatherings. I also have a guest who has a seasonal booth at a fair. She needs Thursday through Sunday.
You have to find out about hospitals, conferences, events near you. There is a “Hall” near me and people come to a couple of festivals. I don’t get people from conferences because those tend to happen in Manhattan and I’m in Brooklyn.
Thanks everyone for your replies! I agree no two hosts are the same and some are more active. Also events and festivals really help.
Thanks!
