Same with me. I can’t imagine not having beds made for guests when they arrive. About the only time beds were not bad for me when I was a guest was for the sofabed in the lounge. That is understandable.

Not making the beds is a no no. It’s about presentation, and how you showcase your property.
I always make the bed for my guests and use fresh linen, and never had my standards questioned.
As you pointed out, it is an inconvenience for the guests who arrive in most cases tired.
