Hi,
I’ve just joined AirHostsForum and seen your message.
I run a Facebook Group called ‘Staying With Art’. It is for AirBnB hosts who are actively involved in the arts - painters, poets, performance artists, gallery owners, singers, the list is long and varied. It is a public group, and is intended both for prospective guests who wish to find arts hosts; and for arts hosts to network with each other. People can post details of rental properties only if they meet two criteria: they provide a link to their AirBnB page, and they say something about their creative work.
The discussion in the group is mostly about hosts’ artistic work - exhibitions, gigs, crowdfunding projects, and how hosts integrate their artistic work with hosting. Plus more general chat about the arts. There are now 2,226 members, and there is daily activity.
This Facebook Group grew out of the AirBnB Group ‘Writers, Artists, and Performers’, which had 26,000 members but closed last night with all other Groups.
Besides the Facebook Group, the ‘Staying With Art’ project also has a blog, a Twitter account, a Pinterest account, and a Directory. These can all be found on the main site, http://www.stayingwithart.com.
As for myself … I was actively hosting on AirBnB for three years but I am now travelling a lot so have had to pause hosting for a while. I am a published author currently working on a history of the New York City subway map.
Thanks for your interest
Peter
