…and a total unwillingness to look up anything in Air’s help system, but willing to spread misinformation. I’ve still got a couple of Air related FB pages bookmarked but stopped checking them.
I had that experience too with an Airbnb FB group ending up to be a bunch of people wanting to learn to make easy money with arbitrage.
This new group is sponsored by Airbnb, invited Airbnb hosts only. Also has an assigned Airbnb support person. I don’t know what that means but I will let you know
What it means is censorship or being overwhelmed with Air talking points, since Air controls who can post. It doesn’t provide direct feedback to the decision makers at Air, which is what they need but don’t want.
Oh good grief. It is a voluntary group. If I find this is true, I will un-join the group.
I think today is grumpy day. It seems practically everyone is mired in negativity today. Can we declare it tomorrow and all feel better!
Maybe we need an online wine social…I would feel better!!
Talking of wine today was the first day of the Vendimia, our (grape) harvest festival.
I’m now sitting on our middle terrace with a large G&T, as I’m completely wined out! Got some nice blues on, low volume as its now our quiet hours, and all our guests are tucked up in bed.
Most of the major producers had stands in the main square tonight, and it’s difficult to pass by a nice vino de Jerez that you can buy by the glass for a euro or so.
All that was followed by some Pisto de Manchego con Presa Ibérica, in simple terms, premium cut of pork with veggies
The thought of Airbnb and Facebook getting into bed together conjures up images of the young master Chesky (metaphorically) snogging the face off the constantly smug looking Zuckerberg, which to most is likely to be a quite repulsive thought.
I don’t have a Facebook account so it’s pretty much irrelevant to me, but the cynic in me thinks this is just another attempt at fostering this fluffy Airbnb feeling of being a “community”. Sorry young Chesky, that ship sailed around six or seven years ago.
Ach well time for some T Bone Walker and a refill
Buenos noches amigos,
JF
I love me some blues.
I had the privilege of seeing BB King in concert a few years before he died. He would tell rambling stories & had started to fade but fingers to guitar strings would move your soul.
I was driving to my rental & had BB King Blues channel on Sirius satellite radio. I found myself craving a cigarette & beer—funny because I rarely smoke & next to never drink beer. Cigarettes, beer & blues just seem to fit.
A little TBone Walker for your enjoyment. Now I gotta go find some filterless Camels & a Beer
Thank you

This blues harp player suggests that you download some episodes of Blues Before Sunrise, a weekly 5 hour show with the Chicago guy that has what is probably the largest blues recording library in the US, perhaps in the world. He’s been doing the show every late Sat night/Sun morning for at least 30 years, and you can download most of his shows.

Facebook page, with links to interviews, background:
He has recordings starting with Bessie Smith but concentrates on pre-war blues and jazz. He’s single, and as he ages he has to decide what to do with this amazing trove.
In addition to downloading his show, you can stream it from a number of public radio stations in the US, since many of them record it and air it on their schedule. I don’t like my local station’s time so usually listen to on Steve’s originating station WDCB in Chicago which is 3 hours earlier than the time my station airs it.
I guarantee that every show will have some music or musician that you’ve never heard of that will blow you away.
