Airbnb Online Experiences

Hi. I started my Airbnb Online Experience which is a handwriting analysis presentation, with a bit of one on one analysis as well, in April.

Numbers grew as people welcomed a Zoom experience as they couldn’t go out, and my reviews are great.

Then numbers dropped even though lockdown is still going strong in the places where most of my guests are from.

Has anyone else doing Online Experiences noticed the same?

Do you think it might be Zoom fatigue, @GhislaineH? I’m so sick of Zoom meetings right now that the last thing I want to do is do it for fun.
P.S. Handwriting analysis sounds really cool, and perfect for an online experience. If I were going to book one, I’d book that.

It could be as simple as the demand for that service searching on AirBnB was satisfied. It may be necessary to do some promotion with social media, etc to find new customers. Or, now that you have their contact info, you could market a second level class to you original students.

If I were in your shoes and thought the content was really good, I would try to record the lessons and then have a “class” for sale and then up-sell personal tutoring. Then, give people discount codes to give to their friends. If they share the code with their Facebook audience, enter them in a drawing for a free lesson, etc, etc.

There are a ton of ways to market the service. I would start there.

I wish I could help. Most of the hosts on this site are hosting properties, not an experience. I’ve tried to figure out how to offer an online experience. Good for you for figuring it out.

I considered doing an online Bodega visit & Sherry tasting “experience”.

Basically, folks would pay €20 a time to watch me enjoying myself, chatting to bodega staff and getting royally lashed on all the free samples :wine_glass:

How could it fail…

Hi, you go to the Airbnb Online Experiences page and click submit an experience. You need at least five good photos and a text that spells out what you’re offering. It has to be interactive rather than, say, a pre recorded presentation. Once the system accepts that you’ve completed the relevant parts you’ll be contacted to say either no or they’ll be in touch to offer you a live audition. Any problems let me know.

I’d go for it, but you’d have to have samples delivered first.

Aye, just the response I’d expect from you
