Make-work projects for techies. Who inhabit a world of their own, where rearranging things and hiding necessary tools behind 3 counterintuitive clicks somehow makes sense, and the need to explain where to find the things they’ve moved never occurs to them.
Sometimes I picture techies standing around the coffee machine going “Hey Dexter, I just moved the log-in button from the upper right hand corner to the lower left hand corner. I’m starting a betting pool as to how long it takes granny to figure it out and how many frantic calls CS gets from hosts who can’t log in to their accounts, yuk snort yuk”.
