Advertising allowed?

As a host can we create a Facebook account using our airbnb name (our property/listing has a unique name) and then advertise property on there?

Yes. Consider yourself an independent business person. Airbnb is just one advertising option you can use - they don’t own you.

You can add links on your Facebook page to send guests to book at Airbnb.

Thank you! I didn’t want to violate any rules.

Absolutely you can. Airbnb doesn’t have any rules about how you can advertise your business. There are a few restrictions and using their intellectual property (logos and so forth), bringing them into disrepute and (I think) representing your listing to be approved or endorsed by them, but they are common sense and you’ll find them in the TOS.

Be aware though that Facebook can change its own rules, and TOS, at any time.

The only thing you can get in “trouble” for is using images paid for by Airbnb. Like if you took them up on the offer of a professional photographer - those images can only be used on Airbnb or your personal site, not competitor sites like Booking or HomeAway.

And like Jaquo said, you can’t use Air’s logos or present yourself as an Airbnb employee/representative.

You certainly can. However, if you are operating under the radar for any ordinances, laws, etc. be aware that advertisements on FB will be seen by more local people. That can draw questions regarding your compliance.
