Advertising a service suited to Airbnb Hosts

Any reason you can not give us a clue what it is?

How did the company above advertise? Theres a banner ad this page.

Because the owner of this forum is independent (not connected to Airbnb) and pays for the whole thing from his own pocket. Last year, we (the owner and the moderators) explored ways in which costs could be defrayed. The banner ads were the agreed-upon method.

It is an ad service as opposed to an individual agreement. This is normal on the internet.

Seems a bit harsh and even shortsighted. I’ve read a bunch of threads here people asking the same question over and over again when some individual with a good product or solution could solve the issue, but they can’t post a link or repost the same answer etc. So you guys keep going in circles looking for solutions and entrepreneurs (often hosts who have faced that problem and found a way to fix it) go looking for ways to highlight their products/ideas to this very specific niche.

You guys should find a way to let small business/entrepreneurs and inventors speak to your group. Heck I bet they would be willing to pay for that privilege. You could moderate each submission and check it for relevancy and appropriateness relative to Airbnb host issues.

Treating enterprise as it were some kind of dreck is kinda silly given that everyone on this thread is an entrepreneur themselves.

The forum owner doesn’t read all posts so what you’re saying is falling on deaf ears, I’m afraid.

Oh well, worth a try.

Not harsh. And not short sighted at all.

What is short sighted and silly is insulting the very forum you are trying to spam.

There are hosts here who also run businesses. They participate in life of the forum, offer advice based on their experience of hosting and people are happy to hear about their products. As you say you are a host, you could have done this too.

And all hosts here do frequently respond to requests for advice about products with recommendations. This is valued because they are recommending products based on their experience of using them not because they want to get a sale. So it is not true to say members can’t post links.

However, the last thing we need is to have hundreds of businesses spamming posts on here (as you have done) simply as an opportunity to push their product/s.

You won’t find any reputable forum that allows this.

There is a way that businesses like yours can market your products here. It’s called advertising. If you want to sell your products why not take out an ad.
