A fun story to share

Funny story to share with you…

This weekend a nice couple stayed here with their 6 month old and Great Dane. It was their first getaway since the baby was born. Their dog enjoyed playing with our Charlie, so during their stay, it often came to our front door looking for Charlie to come out.

Before checking out, the guests sent a text saying that they were heading out and that they enjoyed their stay. Soon after, their dog came to the door looking for Charlie. Charlie barked and barked and wanted out, but I kept him in thinking that the guests needed to pack up, and Charlie might interfere. The dog kept looking inside with those big eyes. A few minutes went by, the dog walked away and Charlie needed his morning walk, so he and I headed out. I was surprised to see the guests’ car was gone…. But the dog was still here! How do you forget a Great Dane?

I called and asked if they had forgotten anything. They said thanks again and that they had a great time. Then I asked if they had their dog. Haha

A friend’s brother left a son at her home. Family packed up, family piled into car, waves, leaves. She turns to go into house & there stands one of her nephews. Oppps

But please what is rest of the story.

Do you have a new dog?

Did he sneak out of car after he was loaded in?

Inquiring minds need to know… Did they come back for the dog or do you now have a Great Dane?

And … how does one review that? I mean if they left the dog on purpose, that gives new life to this thread… and how you review people that would do that sort of thing.

Kinda the opposite scenario- I was once walking down a crowded city street, with my ex and a friend and suddenly had a panic attack, and looked around frantically, saying, “OMG, where is XX?” (my 2 year old) My ex and friend looked at me like I was crazy and said, “You’re carrying her”.

Years ago I had a housekeeper who left her teenage daughter at my house. She came with her mom because she was developmentally disabled and had some physical limitations too. She rode my exercise bike while her mom cleaned. I came home to find her pedaling away.

End of story….
They came back 15 minutes later. They were so embarrassed, but it is rough with a new baby… so much to pack. Very thankful that we are on site!

:joy: that’s a funny story! Kind of like when you’re looking for your phone while talking on it.

Well it’s a good thing she does as she’s told. She got some good exercise that day.

They were lovely people. I think they were just overwhelmed with their first trip out with a baby. Too many things to pack.

They left us a beautiful, detailed review, but left the part out about the Great Dane.

Wow! Poor child must have been scared.

He was a preteen boy. He was quite proud of himself. He thought he was going to have another week at the beach. Sneaky sneaky.

The amount of gear young parents think they need for their baby these days is astounding. I hitchhiked around Mexico in the 70s with my 1 year old on my hip and a not-large backpack.

On your review you might mention that they were great guests but selfishly took their adorable Great Dane with them when he was such a good buddy for your Charlie.

I know. Charlie really missed him when he left.

Yeah, and you might say that if they can’t come back very soon, maybe the Great Dane can? Ask if the Great Dane sleeps in the bed, will he hog it?

I have a business phone and a personal one. I got a new business phone and my personal one was in the car - and my husband was somewhere in the car.

The new phone kept slipping off the charging mat. I had mentioned this to him but he’d just looked at me as if I was bonkers.

Sure enough the new phone slipped off the charging mat and I thought 'ah, I’ll take a photograph of the to prove it to him. Ah…"

What with???
