I had not noticed this article from Airbnb.

This year, 84% of Airbnb reservations between January and June ended with a five-star review

84% of reviews are five stars which clearly shows what a weird review system they have designed. I’m surprised they even admitted this statistic. I wish they would inform guests that 84% of guests rate their stays as five star.

My current guest just mentioned this yesterday when we were chatting- how almost all the reviews she sees on Airbnb are 5*, which makes it a rather pointless review system, and how they should just do away with the ratings. Or Airbnb should stop their stupid expectation of hosts that anything below 5* means the host is in dire need of pulling up their socks.
