Guest having loud sex in the bathroom - update: now threatening to sue

O yes, definitely! We all remember Shawn, the shower guy:joy::joy:

If it was only multiple showers a day. Then there were “girlfriends” half his age that very much looked like hookers, and sex all night with sounds straight from porn videos. Laundry every day with 2 pairs of underwear swimming on extra load. Open windows with AC blasting. Horrible elephant sound he made with his nose at all hours . Phone conversations at 5 am. Arguing with us about everything, drinking like fish every day. And then finally moving out one day suddenly and taking all my hangers:joy::joy:

bahahahahhahahhah, Yana you crack me up! :sweat_smile: I have had elephant honkers myself and what’s bad is I live upstairs and can hear them honking through the walls! Sometimes later on I discover that the walls were not spared the honking junk. Ewwww, sorry for the bad image!

@Yana

Yana, you are definitely a writer…a colorful writer! (Where is that other thread about writers…!) You are so fun to read because everything comes to life with your descriptions. I remember those odd-ball guests of yours and I am chuckling and hitting the wrong keys as I am typing.

You’ve added a couple more descriptions which add to my “joy”. Now I am picturing two of Shawn’s underwear twirling round and round on their own in the washing machine and his “elephant” sound nose-blowing.

@konacoconutz

(cough-cough), (urp!)…I can’t write Ewww in big enough letters!!

Hehehe… thank you @SandyToes for liking how I write .
@konacoconutz, it’s is eww, I am drinking coffee as I read, that’s gross!
Shawn did not blow his nose , he kind of made these sounds out of habit. Even when he was talking to me. But it was all day long and even at night.
I forgot to also mentioned 80 shirts. I am
Not joking , I calculated them when I was cleaning in his room . Which I would not care if he did not take all my 80 hangers

Oh god @Yana :laughing::laughing::laughing:

The thumbs down is helpful but the hotel comment is insufficient. The guest in the OP might be fine in a private room that had it’s own bathroom and was at the other end of the house. But loud anything, even snoring, doesn’t work well in my private room next door to mine.

“This guest would be better suited to staycations at home.”

I spoke with an Airbnb rep this morning and told him that I wanted to resolve this issue. I suggested either to alter my review of X, by explicitly stating that it was my strong suspicion the house rules were broken rather than a proven fact, or to have the review removed completely along with her review of me ( not my ideal choice, because I would rather have the imperfect review I wrote remain for others to see ); or suggest an alternative he thought would be the right course of action in a situation such as this one. He concluded that neither of our reviews violated any Airbnb policies, so both would remain unchanged. As for a potential lawsuit, he essentially suggested I wait until I receive a summons ( if ever ) and he will escalate the issue to their legal department then.
I guess I will just sit tight :slight_smile: for now.

Hahahahhahahahahahahahhaha,
Comment of the day!! Great review idea! Staycations at home, ROTFLMAO :joy:

You can escalate this to twitter for a supervisor to review. There’s no reason why you cannot edit your review.

I would definitely not rely on the judgement of a twenty-one year old AirBNB customer service agent to determine your final course of action here.

I think the ethical and judicious move here is to edit your review so that it doesn’t make assumptions and doesn’t appear judgmental of her moral character: “I suspect she broke my house rule about registered guests …” seems sufficient, in addition to your remark about inappropriate behavior in shared spaces.

lol Airbnb are a joke lately. How on earth can a review that contains conjecture not contravene Airbnb policy? Only a few months ago they removed @konacoconutz 's review because it was hearsay (apparently!).

No… you should not even post a supposition. Just the facts or nothing at all.
The first CSR she talked to won’t allow an edit, so I think she should keep escalating and either edit the assumption out or remove it entirely.

She can escalate but I wouldn’t be suprised if they’ve just decided to shut it down. It’s like Airbnb make their decisions based on which way the wind blows.

Airbnb : Oh it’s a westerly wind today? Then today we can ignore all the guidance and conditions we’ve written on writing reviews.

Yes… that is why I say keep escalating. They only reinstated the review Zandra mentions because I made my brother a co host and apparently co host may be a party to the review. In escalating to twitter, a supervisor agreed with me and reinstated it.

I still feel guilty because my poor brother had to deal with my second worst guests ever during his holiday to Hawaii.

My terrible review of these guests now stands. Thank goodness!

I totally agree that the suspicion shouldn’t be mentioned (esp when the guest confirmed that this wasn’t correct prior to her checking out) but OP seems pretty determined to put it in.

Well… I’m nearly 40 and I look like I’m in my twenties. Some of us are lucky (or maybe unlucky) in that department.

And I just want to add no this isn’t self delusion; this is much younger people talking to me, asking my age and fainting in shock when I tell them the truth.
