Writing review on a guest that just left

  1. Be Objective and Factual

Stick to the facts. Say exactly what happened without exaggerating.

Example: “The guest brought in unregistered visitors, which is against house rules.”

  1. Address Key Issues

Focus on what matters to other hosts:

Rule violations (extra guests, smoking, parties)

Cleanliness

Communication

Damages

Check-in/out problems

  1. Avoid Personal Attacks

Don’t insult or guess intentions.

  1. Keep it Short and Clear

One or two short paragraphs is enough.

Be to the point.

  1. Include Whether You Would Host Again

A simple “Would not host again” or “Would welcome back” is helpful to others.

This made me think of a poster I saw in a restaurant once:
‘The art of diplomacy is being able to tell someone where the hell to go, in such a way that they look forward to the trip’.
Said to be a Winston Churchill quote!!
Ive laughed over that one ever since i read it, years ago.

This is an email i received from support today.
They decided that the damage to the window seal will not be covered. They determined the cost of some items on their own.

This room in question was an addition to the house and it was built in 2020.

I will be speaking with them today.
