Why did I agree to this booking?

Feel free to start one. You can include the tech background so it’s not just castles in the air!

LOVE the fact that off-topic posts are being discussed in a completely unrelated thread…ie. off-topic

Personally, I like the free-flowing conversations that emerge unexpectedly. If you don’t want to read them you can just scroll on by, no?

Exactly, and it’s too early for wine here… but my question remains

WHY DID I AGREE TO THIS BOOKING???:rofl::rofl::rofl::joy:

THE question…

HAMLET: To be, or not to be–that is the question:
Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. To die, to sleep–
No more–and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to. ‘Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep–
To sleep–perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub,
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause. There’s the respect
That makes calamity of so long life.
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
Th’ oppressor’s wrong, the proud man’s contumely
The pangs of despised love, the law’s delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of th’ unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscovered country, from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all,
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o’er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprise of great pitch and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry
And lose the name of action. – Soft you now,
The fair Ophelia! – Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remembered.

STUNNING, give me chills every time. Long live the Bard!!!

At least this thread and others haven’t ended up triggering Godwin’s law.

PS: Does mentioning Godwín’s law itself trigger Godwin’s law??

True if I were in Italy, I’d be having wine with lunch; If I were in jolly ole London town I’d be popping by the pub for a PINT (my English friends advised me half pints were for wusses and tourists) and some chips.

I’m a gin woman myself: martinis (“vodka martinis” are not martinis), Negronis, Vesper martinis, Corpse Reviver 2s and sometimes Sazeracs for variety.

I like a good gin myself, although I think it’s better enjoyed in pleasant company

(of the opposite sex)

@EllenN Ah, one of my most favorite cousins arrived from London this past Saturday. Though it was cocktail hour at home, he decided to go for a run and then take a shower. Then, and only then, did he decide that he should make us a martini. I pulled out some glasses from the basement– Tiffany glass martini glasses given to my parents as a wedding gift in 1958, and we had a Mad Men kind of moment.

For the life of me, I could not find the olives that were hiding in plain sight, so we had some pickled onions.

@Astaire. And yes, this is off-topic.
