The phrase was referred to Christians in US who don’t like to vote at all. It meant : vote this time and then we will not be needing your votes as much as we will have overwhelming majority. It was interpreted as there will be no election anylonger but in reality he was referring only to a group of people who traditionally don’t vote as much as other groups.

It is disingenuous and foolish to think that the words that come out of this little old man do not extend further than what you assume. Be very scared.

“In reality”? What makes you think that? And how does your interpretation even make sense? Having an overwhelming majority has nothing to do with how the vote swings in following elections, unless you are going to use your overwhelming majority to pass laws that make it hard or impossible for your opposition to vote.
And he said it at a Trump rally, full of die-hard Trump supporters who do vote. Non-voters don’t attend political rallies.
You must not be paying attention. This administration is actively trying to do everything they can to suppress voting, on many fronts.

We are in a similar situation. We are in a rural area where we measure distance by time. It takes 2-1/2 hours to reach our Airbnb, and we do our own cleaning and maintenance. That makes a one night stay difficult for us to accommodate. Although, with only inquiries and no bookings so far this year, if someone asked, I’m sure I would say yes.
Politics entering this thread isn’t helpful. It’s truly off putting.

Wow, hats off to you. My little 1-1/2 to 2 hour drve doesn’t seem so bad now. I am 71 and capable of making the drive without issue, but driving, cleaning, then driving back is a lot. I wouldn’t do it daily, but a few times a werk is ok. I sometimes (not lately) get bookings back to back and have no choice, so I do it.
