This was obviously an inquiry, not a booking request. And I initially replied to her, so I don’t think I’m obliged to engage in further correspondence.

In any case, I just got a message from her that said she has found another place, and thanking me. :slight_smile:

I don’t know if my experience is typical, but inquiries so rarely turn into bookings that I would be tempted to completely ignore them if Airbnb didn’t require one to answer them. And answering them is almost always a complete waste of time. Of the people who end up coming here, they almost always just make a booking request, without a lot of extra chatter.

I will ask them, politely, next time they visit, but they are rarities to my garden.

We have plenty of seagulls though. I would willingly send you some! They are particularly fond of seaside towns, where people eat chips out of a bag on the beach.

Or garbage tips.
