What do you do when someone is booking for someone else?

Hi there,
Does anyone have any information on what to do if the person who booked the property is not the person who checked in?

thanks!

Don’t let them check in. Per AirBnB policy, the person making the booking must be staying there. If they didn’t book, it’s not their booking. Third party bookings are not allowed.

If they have already moved in, call Air customer disservice and tell them that they must tell the people that they have to leave. It’s not their booking, not their rental.

I and many others have no problem with third party bookings and it’s typical of this forum that hosts are not going to agree about what’s right for them.

There are lots of threads about it so the search feature is probably the way to go.

However, this topic is over five years old and may mention outdated policies and facts… Therefore I’m closing it now.
