I know that there have been horror stories about Chinese guests on this board, but to date, I have hosted about 18 groups of Chinese from the Mainland and Taiwan, and they have all been fine. And most of them have been more than fine. Yes. Communication can be difficult, but that is true for anyone who doesn’t speak English. The Chinese syntax for we and me is complicated, but I will guess that there will be two people.
I have a group arriving after a non-stop flight from Beijing later this week. They arrive on the eve of the Chinese New Year, so I offered, and they accepted, a special New Year’s Eve dinner. I will serve some pork noodle soup, traditional dumplings, and of course, stir-fried lettuce with garlic. I have “crackers” so that we can imitate firecrackers. Damn, I am recreating one of those AirBNB commercials!
