Unlocked Door and Wearing my necklace:(

You “do not specify?” Doesn’t Airbnb force you to select one or the other? Either it is a Smoking Allowed property or it is Not. There is no grey area.

Hello from beautiful Montana,

Yikes, and double yikes. We have been so blessed to have amazing guests, except for one jerk whose dogs barked all day. Yes, he did leave a bad review, but I didn’t care, just wanted him out.

Best of luck in solving these kind of problems. I gain much information from this forum.

This is an old thread so it may be that the OP is no longer hosting. But…

When a guest rents a place via Airbnb, their tenancy begins from the time of official check in. That’s 4 pm for us. So even if a guest tells me that they will arrive later, it’s still ‘their’s’ from 4 pm. So it’s ready from that time. This just seems sensible business practice.

Not part of the deal. They don’t have to be, and neither do I.

I just don’t get the door lock thing at all.

As for weed, if your place is non-smoking then you could have had them out right there. ‘Messing with things’ is mentioned but many people, myself included, believe that anything that is left in a rental place is for their use. I remember many years ago going into a rental bungalow for a few days. The wine rack was full and we drank the lot. Because we assumed it was available for our use. Surely it wouldn’t have been there otherwise?

If I rent a place I assume that I can use/ fiddle with/consume anything that’s there.

I’d love to know the outcome!
