Human life comes first of course, but there have been some very heartwarming videos online showing people saving local wildlife.

Hi all, I’m in Victoria (usually just lurk here). I have a place in the Grampians (250km west of Melbourne) that I Airbnb.
There’s been some small fires in the area, but nothing like what we saw on the east side.
My welcome booklet (I’m in Melbourne) lists all the emergency information for the area, and as fire alerts for the area came up (15km South of the house), I’d check in with guests.
I have been waiting for bookings to cancel, but none have yet.
We’re all a bit shaken here with what’s been happening. Fire season is usually in mid-late February, and this has been magnitudes worse than anything we’ve seen in the last couple of decades.
