If you require government ID yes. Some people say you don’t have to input government ID to have an account so I’m unsure.
Any checks they do are minimal, but perhaps the most important thing is that you can not get the data so pretty meaningless. You can state in your listing that you need to see ID on check in.
As always very good advice! Thank you all. I Stated the security concerns and they haven’t pushed it, but I didn’t think about the address being blocked out even if I did try to send it

Air does not give your address until the guest books for a good reason. I never agree to reveal my address so someone can drive by.
I don’t mind at all. It’s good that we’re all different 
I never minded giving my street address because it’s a high-rise building with hundreds of apartments. 
My lakefront rental was in a private complex so I didn’t mind giving that address out either…I just didn’t give out the unit number. …
