Search ranking - decline or pre-approve

But @anomaly14 as has already been said a number of times, you don’t need to do this, you just need to reply to stop the clock, if it’s an inquiry

I read how Smartbnb guarantee to reply within 1 second as they say every second counts (!) so I hit the pre-approve button as that can be done quickly, then I can take a few minutes or however long I need to compose my reply.

I’m sure there are much more important factors affecting search ranking, but it’s one of Smartbnb’s selling points so I hit that button as fast as I can. I didn’t know refreshing the browser stopped the clock, but I think if Air are encouraging us to hit either pre-approve or decline, then it might be slightly more in your favour to hit a button rather than refresh your browser.
Such minutiae of things to consider!

Sorry I don’t agree they are minutiae to consider. Of course Smartbnb can do this, they automate the response.

You certainly don’t need to reply within seconds that’s ridiculous.

I didn’t say you just refresh your browser. I said I reply to the guest within a few hours and retain my first page ranking. Responding promptly is one reason why I have this.

I have IB. I never use the big decline or approve buttons. If someone has a question I just answer it and let it go at that. If someone asks me if they can book certain dates, I tell them that they can IB. It doesn’t seem to have affected my ratings in any way.

What about if people don’t fill your criteria (Id, approval of other hosts) they can’t IB right ?

Yikes this is killing me, I had a bad run this month a 20 year old and 19 year old tried to book my place to party at (house rules min age 25) then cancelled. Another guest inexplicably cancelled. And I declined a reservation request made by someone who reserved for one person but was a family of 4. An I going to be kicked down in search results?
