Replacing the kitchen sink

@RebeccaF
We have a black enamel over cast iron sink which has served us very well for 30 years. We live, work, cook and eat here, it is a country kitchen that gets constant use. Cannot recall the brand but we got it at the local hardware that caters to builders. Eventually we may replace it, and if we ever do, it will be with an other of the same

Where we are staying at the moment (staying, not living but relatively long term) the kitchen has a black sink. I’m not sure but I’d say it’s a resin sink (or similar). I hate it.

I prefer a white sink (which is what I’ve had for about thirty years) because you can see the dirt. Every slosh of tea, every coffee ground, every splash of sauce - it can all be cleaned up straight away and the sink looks gorgeous again.

With the black one, I forget to clean it as it should be cleaned because I can’t see anything wrong with it. Then I clean it with a white cloth and find that it’s filthy. Although I’m sure a cook / chef wouldn’t let that happen :slight_smile:
