I have a remote farmhouse rental and live 90 minutes away. Guests are given a code before check-in and told how to use it. The backup is that I can remotely unlock/lock it from my phone and the neighbor has a metal key. My housekeeper has her code and so do service workers. The app on my phone shows what code was used and at what time. It also shows the battery %. I have purchased these for my home as well.
