Small businesses like B&Bs usually only pay a couple of hundred $ per year (mine was $300) because most of the organization’s money comes from room taxes THAT YOU COLLECT. They often have membership events that are great for networking, and usually have volunteers manning info booths at airports, train stations, or in the center of tourist areas. I made sure to visit all the booths at various times so the volunteers knew about me, and had advertising rack cards in the rack right there (a privilege for members).
