Same goes for septic systems. Bleach kills the “good” bacteria needed to keep it running smoothly. Everytime flush things are bad for them as well. Just my two cents worth.
I share the toilet with my guests (unfortunately), and one issue I get sometimes is what I’ve named ‘toilet kissing’. Somehow (!!!) several of my guests manage to rub their bum holes against the rear side of the toilet seat leaving a thin brown smear. Eeeek. I’ve also had a guest leave a small slug sized poo on the toilet seat as a special present.
That is so gross, but it made me laugh even though it’s also so true.
I won’t have to worry about that tomorrow though, we are having a procession of recently retired Canadian couples in both apartments and (so far!) they’ve been leaving our toilets and kitchens almost as clean as when they arrived. I like this type of guest
