As you can see from my posts, I’ve literally spent the entire day working on my re-vamped listings. Thank you all so much for the great suggestions : ) My cleaner can only come on Tuesdays, so there’s one flip possible per week. That means no 1- or 2-day bookings are possible during the week (since most tourists come on weekends). However, I can’t block off any weekdays because then folks who want to book for a week won’t see that as a possibility when they go to reserve. I suck at Math. Maybe that’s why I can’t see how to do this… Suggestions?
Once you get a booking block off the dates between it and Tuesday (or Wednesday if the flip can’t be done before check-in time.

Get a new cleaner who can some when you need him/her.

Get another cleaner who can come on other days. I have two cleaners to cover this sort of situation.
If you live nearby you could also turn it over yourselves

So difficult on the island. There’s a shortage of supply and some airbnb-ers cleaners are coming from towns as much as an hour and a half away…but I’ll keep the faith alive : )
You’re right, of course, but I’ll be in the big city getting medical treatment for the next 5-6 months and anyone on the island who can tell the difference between a mop and a shotgun is working non-stop.

I wonder if you could find someone who would like to spend 5-6 months on the island managing your rental in exchange for lodging. I’m sorry I’m having a hard time keeping up. You have a million posts and three places where you live (I don’t mean that as a negative) so maybe you don’t have anywhere they could live? If I were truly retired and free from being tied down here I’d love to travel and do pet sitting or temp co-hosting.

Yes, great suggestion. I have been promoting the managing-in-exchange-for-free rent. Nobody that I would trust was up for it. The silver lining is I have my golden neighbour who will be on hand in case of emergency.

Can you just block Tuesdays and only allow four to five night stays?

You can finetune your availibility settings as follows:
You might need to play with it so that it suits what you want. You might want to prefer check Out on Mondays instead of Tuesday …
