Locked storage areas in basement

Thanks, it’s good to know VRBO allows this.

The drawer (yes, just one) has remotes, LED candle, electronics charging cord and an ink pen in it.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. I always check the joinery and for dust panels in my Airbnb drawers. And if that’s all impressive, I pull the furniture away from the wall to check for stamps on the back for manufacturer. I also know now to check and see if the previous guest left their vibrator without the housekeeper finding it.

Why would you need to disclose a camera that is in an area that a) is not within the confines of the listing b) is inaccessible from the listing (in the same sense that an apartment unit down the hall from the listing is “inaccessible” because it is behind locked doors) and c) there is no line-of-sight from the camera to the Airbnb rental property or to guests accessing the rental property from outdoors or common areas.

Another one I think someone posted here that made the news was a guest who thought the retracted sprinkler heads in the apartment (standard in the building in case of fire) were recording devices.

And a host on the CC who was suspended for an “undisclosed camera”- when a CS rep finally got around to contacting him, she sent a photo of his outdoor pool area with the “device” circled in red, asking what it was.
It was the outdoor shower head. The guest must have known that, or was an idiot if they didn’t, as it was in the outdoor shower with faucet handles right below it, duh.

Whoa! Did you catch it in time to charge them? Or was it one of those things where you didn’t realise it until it was too late to figure out who did it? Please let us know how it all played out!

Unfortunately I didn’t realize it until it was too late.
