Italian tax 21%

Hi everyone,

Just wondering does anybody have any information on this new law, being introduce by the Italian government, where rental agencies and sites like AIRBNB are to withhold 21% tax on all rentals and forward them to the Italian government?

We rent out a room in Italy but so far no tax has been deducted

Thanks Lynda, it’s being introduced on June 1st, so most likely will start happening after that date.

No news yet about how Airbnb is going to add this Tax on their system. Actually the Airbnb country manager here in Italy said that this change would be technically impossible. For now my properties in Rome didn’t have any charge, nor i had any message from Airbnb about the upcoming new tax.
