Then obviously you are in an exceptional situation and will adjust your expectations accordingly. However that’s irrelevant in the vast majority of circumstances.
I also have guests who say they can’t access ABB messenger because “they have no wifi access”. I’m not sure if this is a setting in the app or not? I have no problems accessing the app just through LTE/cell data.
I have guests from other countries who come here without data all the time. Thats how I used to travel. Recently my cell phone works in other countries but I used to only get to check email etc when I found a wifi hotspot abroad. It happens to me all the time where a guest books and then never responds until they’re here.
I get a lot of older folks without a smart phone or laptop that just book the room at the library or something. They at least come prepared and print out the entire reservation though so they actually usually know more about whats going on with check-in times etc.
Hi @amywyo,
(Much belated completion and posted of an earlier partially written response.)
I don’t know about raw nerves. I’m sorry if I sounded adversarial. I was just trying to make a point. But it does sound like I’m talking past some people here to some extent.
The point, to repeat it again, is that if you are making a last minute booking request to a host that does not have IB enabled, don’t make it so late that you can’t response to questions. And it’s not actually necessary to make it so last minute, either. Two days earlier would work. The evening before is just poor organization. And this is coming from someone who is normally anything but organized.
And it’s been a while since this thread was active, so I may have forgotten some of the context. But let’s not dredge it up again - this wasn’t a productive discussion.
