Scam. I would have reported them on the spot.
We had a similar inquiry from a Chinese person wanting to stay a month. Very vague answers and then he said why do you only have 5 pictures on your listing when I have about 15. I thought that was odd. I didn’t get the responses I was seeking so I denied him. Glad I did when reading this similar post.

It’s times like this that this forum is particularly helpful to us all - sharing classic warning signs. I will add that I finally learned that my peace of mind is worth way more than the money. Both the anxiety leading up to an iffy reservation, and if things go awry and I had ignored my instincts. We have to shift from thinking we need to take advantage of all and any opportunities regardless of signs of risk.
