I have to disagree with you on this. This is indefensible to accept a booking (via instant book) and then cancel because the host is greedy. We all know guests do not read and everyone just clicks through. If you accept a booking then you need to honor it. It is hosts like this that give us all a bad name.

If you donât WANT shorter stays, why are you worried about showing up in searches for them? If you only want a 5 night minimum, set a 5 night minimum. If it is the price point you are after, raise your nightly rates so that 2 nights gets you what you want for 5. If you are trying to lure people in by making it SEEM like they are getting one thing, then changing the rules that is just apallingly dishonest.

Exactly, hosts should see this from the guests perspective. I booked for two days and then the host tried to strong arm me into more days. Hosts who do this should be delisted. This happened to me and it was a nightmare, kids in car on my way to check in and the host cancelled.

I actually agree with you on this point!
Most guests book less than 3 months out. Set your bookings for 5 nights. When you want more business, set it for 2 nights. Itâs a keystroke. Obviously you will honour the nights guests booked for.
But I would be inclined to test out those 5 nighters a little longer. Or list at 2 nights, and offer an incentive at 5 nights.
Exactly what I said! No idea why this needs to be so complicated. If you want 5 nights and the guest donât want 5 nights, then itâs not a good fit! If the host wants a higher price, then just set the price higher! If guests donât book because itâs too high, then itâs not a good fit! Sheesh!
