How does rating system work?

I just had a new rating today. I dont understand why the overall rating from the guest is four stars when it looks like she gave me five stars for accuracy, cleanliness, check in, communication and location.

Can someon explain how this system works?

You got the- everything was wonderful, but this isn’t the Ritz Hotel rating!

I sometimes wish there were half points or a 1-10 scale since many guests see the top rate a perfection which I certainly don’t always achieve.

It doesn’t!
It’s entirely up to the guest to tick the boxes as they see fit. We have had 5 stars for accuracy yet 3 or 4 stars for location. If we’ve described everything perfectly then the problem that they’ve chosen somewhere that doesn’t fit their needs should be their problem! It’s bizarre but Air are not interested in doing anything about it.
