Hosts are now TV characters

If you’re in the U.S., a new ABC TV show came out this month called “Call Your Mother.” It looked terrible (and is so unwatchable they had to add a laugh track) but my wife turned it on while I was cooking. Turns out the main character stays at a we’re-not-calling-it-an-Airbnb-but-it’s-totally-an-Airbnb and the host is an “Incredihost.” (SPOILER ALERT) Romance blooms between the host and the guest, at least in the pilot.

While I won’t be watching any more of this show if I can help it, I thought it was amusing to see hosts are such a normal thing now that they can be part of the plot of a network sitcom.

Plus I’m wondering if I should re-read the Ts-and-Cs of the Airbnb host agreement to see whether or not it’s permissible to make out with your guests (although the previously mentioned wife probably wouldn’t approve).

Unfortunately, I have had no luck in that department. But hey, send them my way.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping that might happen myself, but it hasn’t yet.
