Homeaway newbies question

Hi

We are host in several platforms. I am not sure how homeaway works, We are paying an annual subscription and no online payment. I got a booking request today and I replied to the questions but that blocked the calendar. How long time should I give to the clients to reply before I do cancel (to unlock my calendar), is it any penalties to cancel?
