My point is that hosts with higher cleaning fees are not using the cleaning fees to reap extra profit. There seems to be some suspicion surrounding the higher cleaning fees. In reality, it costs a lot to have an Airbnb cleaned. I don’t share the suspicion about them, I don’t think it’s a ploy to make extra money. It is the low cleaning fees that aren’t really accurate. It is because I clean my own units that I understand why many cleaning fees are so high. The last place I stayed had a $250 cleaning fee which may seem high to some but it was a huge place so I left tips for the cleaners.

The complainers about ‘high cleaning fees’ are the same folks who complain that they are mad that their local coffee shop raised their prices by $1 so that their employees do not have to work 3 jobs to get by. Not caring if cleaning folks get a living wage making me SMH…
