Guests arriving and letting themselves into your home

We’ve had the health inspector try to let himself in. He visits twice a year. He visits everyone and is actually a pretty nice guy. He could have rung the doorbell though.

We just bought an automatic lock to solve the problem of people not locking the door. But I may wait until they’ve arrived to give them the code so that this doesn’t happen to us! I would flip if I just came downstairs to find someone who entered without knocking.

Among others, Lockstate has a wifi lock that integrates with airbnb - the lock code is live only at your check in time, and stops working at the moment of check out. It also can assign random lock codes and message your guests with this info.

Interesting! That is a very useful feature.

I don’t give them the room code until they arrive as I prefer to meet the guests who are staying in my house first.
